McKINNEY, Texas — McKinney school officials say they are appalled by altered photos — including heads on different bodies — in hundreds of high school yearbooks delivered this week.
Besides the head and body switching, some necks were stretched, and some outfits were altered by a national photography company, The Dallas Morning News reported in its online edition on Friday.
Officials from Lifetouch, the Minnesota-based company, did not respond to the newspaper's requests for comment. An e-mail sent to the company by The Associated Press on Friday night was not immediately answered.
School officials said the company acknowledged that someone with Lifetouch intentionally altered the photos.
Lifetouch has agreed to pay to reprint the yearbooks, McKinney school spokesman Cody Cunningham said. Lori Oglesbee, the yearbook adviser at McKinney High School, said the yearbook staff planned to spend the weekend trying to rebuild the yearbook.
McKinney is about 20 miles north of Dallas.
