How does free food sound? Chipotle is betting it sounds pretty good as it will giving away gourmet burritos and tacos at its soon-to-open new location at 2014 West University Dr.
Fast-growing McKinney gets its second Chipotle Mexican Grill this month, and to celebrate the restaurant is offering free food from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Chipotle will officially celebrate its grand opening on Friday with t-shirt giveaways and a contest to win free burritos for a year.
Knowing that it is entering into an environmentally conscious community, Chipotle's new site was built using green standards such as recycled drywall, energy efficient appliances and low VOC (volatile organic compounds) paints. Part of Chipotle's mission in offering free food in McKinney on Wednesday is also to feature its naturally raised meats and synthetic hormone-free dairy in keeping with its ecological stance.
“We focus on making gourmet quality food available and affordable so everyone can eat better,” said Chris Arnold, spokesman at Chipotle. “In the past you could only find naturally raised meats at expensive restaurants or high-end specialty food markets. We are bringing a new perspective to eating in America by providing great food, fast by using the best ingredients at every one of our restaurants.”
