Growth and McKinney’s preparation for even more residents and students were the featured topics at the eighth annual State of the City program Tuesday. Representatives from the city of McKinney, McKinney ISD, Collin County Community College District and Collin County spoke about some of their achievements during the last fiscal year and goals for the current fiscal year at the event, which was sponsored by the McKinney Chamber of Commerce at McKinney Fellowship Bible Church. Chamber chairman Johnny Galyean kept the packed crowd laughing and entertained. Keeping in line with the sports theme “Ready, Set, Grow,” Galyean had his game face on , dressed in a baseball-style T-shirt with eye black under his eyes, tape on his wrists, and a black, curly wig. One of his jokes was when Galyean referred to McKinney ISD Superintendent Tom Crowe as the superintendent of the Pogue ISD because Pogue Construction has a long history of building most, if not all McKinney ISD campuses.Full Story
