McKINNEY, Texas (Aug. 7, 2007) - The McKinney City Council tonight signed an agreement with Experian( MAP) that provides economic incentives which allows Experian to continue to expand and improve its McKinney data center.

The McKinney facility was built seven years ago for business continuity purposes and has served as the back-up facility. During the past several years, Experian has made significant upgrades to its McKinney data center, increasing the production capacity of the world-class data center.

Experian's agreement with the city takes effect Sept. 1, 2007. The City of McKinney will benefit from the company's investment, property values, sales and purchases at the newly upgraded facility. For city tax purposes, the company estimates $40-50 million per year in state sales.
"We're always excited when a company expands the scope of its operations in McKinney," said Mayor Pro Tem Thad Helsley. "Experian is investing in our unique community and we're pleased that the company views McKinney as a wise investment."

The City is authorized by Chapter 380 of the Texas Local Government Code to provide economic development incentives to promote local economic development and to stimulate business and commercial activity in the City.

The agreement also contains an option and incentive for additional expansion at a later date
