McKINNEY – What do you get when you mix five local artists, a 127-year-old prison building and one burgeoning arts community?

The answer is downtown McKinney's newest art gallery, nestled into a most unusual space. The Aristeia Gallery opened last weekend in the old Collin County Prison, which housed prisoners from 1880 until the 1970s. It was the site of the last legal execution in Collin County. Long since closed, the prison was on the Texas Historical Commission's Endangered Building List until it recently became available for lease. More
